Hey, I'm Joshua
My name is Joshua Cooper. I graduated in May 2026 with an Associate's degree in Information Technology and Networking, with a concentration in Programming. RoadTrippin is my first app.
RoadTrippin started as a random idea that I just kept adding to. One feature led to another, and before I knew it, it had turned into something real. I'm hoping it can provide some fun trips, a little adventure, and some good memories for the people who use it.
What RoadTrippin does
RoadTrippin is a free road trip planner for explorers and geocachers. It plans driving routes, finds parks, museums, historic sites, viewpoints, and trailheads along the way, helps you search for and log geocaches, and lets you plan trips together with friends in private groups. There's no account, sign-up form, or credit card required. It runs on iPhone, Android, and the web.
Every place on the map comes from free, open-source data — mainly OpenStreetMap, the community-built map of the world — and every visit and geocache find that travelers log adds to a shared community map. The guides explain how each feature works.
Where this is going
RoadTrippin is just getting started. Here's what I'm working toward in future updates:
- Dietary-friendly restaurants — find places to eat along your route that cater to specific needs, such as gluten-free, vegan, or allergy-friendly menus.
- Accessibility reviews for hotels — honest, detailed accessibility information for lodging so every traveler can plan with confidence.
- Niche and local stores — unique local shops, vintage stores, specialty retailers, and hidden gems you won't find in a standard search.
- And more — new categories, community features, and tools to make every road trip better, including your suggestions.
Have an idea you'd like to see? Get in touch — I read every message.
